Subscription Terms

These Subscription Terms apply to the two paid tiers of the SKAFT. mobile application: SKAFT. Pro (for individual players) and SKAFT. Pro Coach (adds coaching tools on top of every Pro feature). By starting a free trial or purchasing either subscription, you agree to these terms.

1. Seller

SKAFT. Pro and SKAFT. Pro Coach are sold by Viktor Tumi Valdimarsson, kennitala 130508-3160, operating SKAFT. as an independent practice tracker for golfers made and operated in Iceland (“we”, “SKAFT.”), through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, who act as the merchant of record. SKAFT. is currently operated as a personal project and is not yet a registered company. This means:

  • Apple or Google bill you in the currency of your account country, issue the receipt, and handle any applicable Icelandic value-added tax (VSK / VAT) themselves. We never see your card details.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We cannot directly process refunds. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or from Google Play at play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory.
  • Any questions about the content of the subscription (what’s included, technical issues, your account) can be sent to skaft@skaftgolf.com.

2. What’s included

2.1 SKAFT. Pro

SKAFT. Pro unlocks the following premium features:

  • Competitions · create and join multi-player progress and drill-score competitions with your friends, over single drills or multiple drills, in best-attempt or all-attempts scoring modes.
  • Advanced statistics · per-drill score progression with personal-best markers, the How-you-compare card against peer-handicap and pro averages, weather-impact breakdowns, the handicap progression chart, and the embedded category Progress card.
  • Unlimited custom drills · the free tier is limited to 3 user-created drills; SKAFT. Pro removes the cap.
  • Unlimited session history + PDF export · the free tier shows the last 30 days of practice; SKAFT. Pro shows your full history and lets you export sessions to a styled PDF that includes a statistics summary.
  • Weekly AI insight · a weekly Claude-generated summary of your last ~14 days of practice with concrete suggestions. Requires your explicit one-time consent before the first insight is generated (see Privacy Policy §4a).

2.2 SKAFT. Pro Coach

SKAFT. Pro Coach adds the following coaching workflow on top of every SKAFT. Pro feature above:

  • Student roster · invite golfers who use SKAFT. as your students by username; on their acceptance you gain a read-only dashboard over their practice data.
  • Coach notes and drill assignments · write private notes (general or session-attached) and push drill assignments with a due date to any active student.
  • Coach-run competitions · create competitions across your student roster without needing to be friends first.
  • Student groups · organise your roster into private groups for easier filtering.

Both tiers may add, change, or remove features during the subscription term provided the overall service remains substantially as described. If we remove a feature that materially changes the value you are paying for, you can cancel and request a refund from Apple or Google under §8.

3. Pricing and billing periods

Each tier is offered in two billing periods:

  • SKAFT. Pro · Monthly or Annual (renewing every month or every year)
  • SKAFT. Pro Coach · Monthly or Annual (renewing every month or every year). Pro Coach is billed at approximately twice the SKAFT. Pro price since it inherits every Pro feature plus the coaching workflow.
USD 6.99
Pro, per month
USD 44.99
Pro, per year

Prices are set per country and shown in your local currency by the App Store or Play Store before you confirm — the amounts above are the United States prices for the SKAFT. Pro tier and may differ where you live. SKAFT. Pro Coach is priced at roughly 2× these numbers.

Prices are set separately per country in the App Store and Play Store and may be listed in Icelandic Króna (ISK), United States Dollars (USD), Euros (EUR), or another currency depending on your account country and the store. If your account currency and your card currency differ, your bank converts at its own published exchange rate at the moment of payment. The price actually charged is always the price displayed in the app paywall at the moment you confirm the purchase.

Icelandic value-added tax (VSK / VAT) at 24% is included in the price and remitted by Apple or Google as the merchant of record. We may change prices for future renewal periods; you will be notified at least 30 days in advance and given the option to cancel before the change takes effect.

4. Free trial (14 days, opt-in, no card required)

Each new user account is entitled to one 14-day free trial of SKAFT. Pro. The trial is opt-in — you only enter it by actively tapping a “Start free trial” button inside the app (on the paywall, the profile subscription card, or a Pro-feature gate). The free trial covers the SKAFT. Pro tier only. SKAFT. Pro Coach has no free trial — you can start Pro Coach only through a paid subscription in the App Store or Google Play.

The trial is granted by SKAFT.’s own servers, not by Apple or Google. We do not collect any payment information during the trial. You cannot be charged during the trial because no payment method is linked.

When the 14 days end, your account simply reverts to the free tier. There is no automatic conversion to a paid subscription. To keep using the Pro features after the trial, you have to open the app and explicitly choose a Monthly or Annual subscription. That is the moment Apple or Google ask for your payment method and initiate billing.

Each SKAFT. account is eligible for one 14-day trial. If you delete your account and create a new one, the trial is not re-granted. You do not need to “cancel” the trial; if you simply do nothing, you will not be charged.

5. Auto-renewal of paid subscriptions

Once you start a paid Monthly or Annual subscription, it auto-renews at the end of each period using the payment method you have on file with Apple or Google. To avoid being charged for the next period, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID or Google account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of period end.

To cancel a paid subscription:

  • iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → SKAFT. → Cancel Subscription
  • Android: Google Play → Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → SKAFT. → Cancel

Turning off auto-renewal does not refund the current period. You keep access to SKAFT. Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.

6. 14-day right of withdrawal (Icelandic / EEA distance-selling)

Under Icelandic consumer law (Lög um neytendasamninga nr. 16/2016, Art. 18) you have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract for digital content without giving a reason.

Article 21(j) of the same Act allows this right to be lost for digital content if the consumer (a) gives prior express consent to immediate delivery of the content, and (b) acknowledges that giving that consent ends the withdrawal right.

When you start a paid SKAFT. Pro subscription inside the app, the paywall asks you to tick a box that gives both of these consents. By ticking that box and confirming the purchase, you expressly consent to immediate delivery of the SKAFT. Pro digital content and you acknowledge that you thereby lose your 14-day right of withdrawal under Lög um neytendasamninga nr. 16/2016 Art. 21(j).

If you have not ticked that box, your 14-day withdrawal right still applies. Contact skaft@skaftgolf.com within 14 days of the first paid charge to exercise it. We will support your refund request directly with Apple or Google, and where Apple or Google decline a withdrawal that we believe is valid under Icelandic law, we will refund the amount directly. This clause does not affect the refund policies operated by Apple or Google, which may grant refunds beyond the statutory minimum at their discretion.

7. Cancellation and termination

You may cancel a paid subscription at any time through your Apple or Google account subscriptions screen (see §5). After cancellation:

  • You keep access to your current tier until the end of the current paid period.
  • Auto-renewal is disabled. You will not be charged again.
  • Your data (sessions, drills, media, friends, competitions you have created, coach–student relationships) stays in your account. You return to the free tier with the corresponding feature limits.
  • If you were on SKAFT. Pro Coach, your coach–student relationships are preserved but your student roster becomes read-only until you renew Pro Coach or Apple / Google reactivates the subscription. You cannot invite new students, push new assignments, or add new coach notes while on the free or SKAFT. Pro tier.

We may suspend or terminate your subscription if you breach these terms, the Terms of Service, or applicable law. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and an opportunity to cure first.

8. Refunds

Refunds are issued by Apple or Google under their respective policies.

If you believe you have been charged in error, contact skaft@skaftgolf.com with the date and amount of the charge. We will help you submit the refund request to Apple or Google. Where the issue is on SKAFT.’s side (for example, a bug that caused an unintended purchase) and Apple or Google decline the refund, we will refund the amount directly via a method we agree with you.

9. Promotional offers and bulk access

We do not currently use Apple’s or Google’s introductory-offer mechanisms (the 14-day trial described in §4 is granted by SKAFT.’s own servers, not by the App Store or Play Store). We may from time to time offer promotional pricing or promo codes. The terms of each promotional offer are disclosed at the point of acceptance and apply only for the period stated.

In addition, SKAFT. supports two forms of promotional Pro access that do not involve Apple or Google billing:

  • Club access codes. Golf clubs and organisations may purchase bulk Pro access for their members under a separate written agreement with SKAFT. Codes are issued as Apple Offer Codes on iOS and Google Play promo codes on Android, and redeemed inside the Apple or Google native redemption UI (the app deep-links you to that UI when you tap “Redeem code”). Apple or Google validates the code and applies the subscription; SKAFT.’s own servers no longer accept custom codes. Club codes grant the SKAFT. Pro tier only, not Pro Coach. Clubs interested in bulk access can contact skaft@skaftgolf.com.
  • Direct grants. SKAFT. administrators may extend either tier to a specific account for a fixed number of days (for example, for testing, support, or as compensation). Grants are applied server-side, without any code-redemption step, and stack on top of any existing trial or paid time rather than replacing it.

Auto-renewal after a code-granted trial. Apple Offer Codes and Google Play promo codes typically grant free access for a fixed intro period (e.g. 1 month or 1 year), after which Apple or Google automatically starts the paid auto-renewing subscription unless you cancel through your Apple or Google account subscriptions screen (see §5) before the intro period ends. This is standard behaviour for both stores and is disclosed to you inside the Apple / Google redemption UI at the point of redemption.

Administrator grants add days to the end of your current Pro period. Grants do not auto-renew, never charge you, and do not create a recurring contract. If you later subscribe to a paid plan through Apple or Google, the paid subscription becomes the authoritative source of truth and may overwrite the grant.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Subscription Terms when the law, the service, or our billing changes. Material changes will be announced in-app and by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of SKAFT. Pro after that date counts as acceptance.

11. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by Icelandic law. Before going to court, you can file a complaint with Neytendastofa (the Consumer Agency of Iceland), neytendastofa.is, or with the relevant Icelandic consumer-complaints committee (Kærunefnd lausafjár- og þjónustukaupa for consumer-services disputes). The competent court in the first instance is Héraðsdómur Reykjavíkur.

Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights as a consumer under Icelandic law (Lög um neytendakaup nr. 48/2003, Lög um neytendasamninga nr. 16/2016) or under EU/EEA consumer-protection directives.
